Five Dates When NASCAR Should Never Schedule A Race

NASCAR took the day off on Sunday, which is appropriate considering it was Easter and the majority of NASCAR fans observe that holiday.

There are other days on which NASCAR will unofficially never schedule a race – namely, Mother's Day and Super Bowl Sunday.

With that in mind, here are some other suggestions for dates NASCAR should make sure to always take off.

NASCAR should not race on:

• March 3 (National Anthem Day) – This holiday celebrates the creation of our National Anthem. And since many pre-race anthems are cringe-worthy, NASCAR should observe this holiday by never scheduling a race.

• May 2 (Kyle Busch's Birthday) – It seems like Busch already wins on every other day of the year. NASCAR should ban racing on May 2 every year to make sure Busch can't have his cake and eat it, too.

• Aug. 16 (Stay Home With Your Kids Day) – Uh, have you seen the NASCAR garage lately? It's full of babies. If the drivers decide to observe this holiday, there'd be no one left to race.

• Sept. 28 (Ask A Stupid Question Day) – Not racing on this actual holiday would prevent the inevitable fireworks between the media and Tony Stewart.

• Every Sunday afternoon with an NFL game scheduled – Football is our country's national pastime. Why fight it? Schedule every Chase race on a Saturday night, not Sunday.
