Juan Pablo Montoya Gets New Crew Chief As Brian Pattie Booted Heading Into Indianapolis

Juan Pablo Montoya has been a threat at Indianapolis Motor Speedway each of the past few years. But this year, he's showing up with a brand new crew chief.

Earnhardt Ganassi Racing announced Tuesday it has replaced Brian Pattie atop Montoya's pit box with longtime EGR employee Jim Pohlman.

Montoya, 17th in the point standings, figures to be strong at the Brickyard 400 and Watkins Glen and needs a win to put himself in position for a Chase wild card berth.

Will the shakeup at crew chief help his team? At this point, trying something different appeared to be team owner Chip Ganassi's best option.
