Somehow, the pastor invited to speak ahead of Saturday night's NASCAR Nationwide Series race in Nashville managed to drop just about every single sponsor into his pre-race prayer, and it sure sounded a lot like a scene from Talladega Nights. You know the one, with Ricky Bobby at the table, thanking Taco Bell, Coca-Cola and all sorts of other off-the-wall items. It appears Pastor Joe Nelms watched the movie sometime before the race and, after going through a more serious prayer, decided to shoot from the hip, giving thanks for his two sons -- the little e's -- and his "smokin' hot wife."
It was bizarre, but hilarious all at the same time. He even managed to include Goodyear, the official tire, and Sunoco Racing Fuel into the prayer that became a word from our sponsors.
Now compare that to the scene from Talladega Nights and see if there's not a bit of resemblance.
