2012 Daytona 500 Start Time, NASCAR Speedweeks Event Start Times Announced

Mark your calendars: The 2012 Daytona 500 will begin shortly after 1 p.m. Eastern time on Feb. 26, Daytona International Speedway officially announced today.

The start time for the Daytona 500 had already been widely reported, but the full NASCAR Speedweeks calendar was released to the public on Friday.

Here are the rest of the start times for Speedweeks (all times Eastern):

Rolex 24: 3:30 p.m., Jan. 28-29

Lucas Oil Slick Mist 200 (ARCA): 4:30 p.m., Feb. 18

Budweiser Shootout (Sprint Cup Series exhibition): 8:10 p.m., Feb. 18

Daytona 500 qualifying (Sprint Cup Series): 1:05 p.m., Feb. 19

Gatorade Duel (Sprint Cup Series qualifying races): 2 p.m., Feb. 23

NextEra Energy Resources 250 (Camping World Truck Series): 7:30 p.m., Feb. 24

DRIVE4COPD 300 (Nationwide Series): 1:15 p.m., Feb. 25

Daytona 500 (Sprint Cup Series): 1 p.m., Feb. 26

The speedway also said there are tickets still available for the Daytona 500 – some as cheap as $65. And for the first time, kids 12 and under get half-off tickets for Superstretch seats.
