NASCAR 2012 Weather Forecast At Auto Club Speedway: Looks Like Monday Racing

Stay connected with SB Nation

It is going to rain on Sunday at Auto Club Speedway thanks to a Pacific storm system that is moving south off of the Northern California coast.

I think the rain and possible light drizzle spreads into the area during the morning and increases, with the chance of thunderstorms, for the afternoon. Once the rain arrives, it will remain the whole day and continue into the evening and overnight. The probability of racing on Sunday is less than 10 percent, and if I were a betting man, I'd bet on a Monday race rather than Sunday.

The good news is Monday's forecast is dry with just a slight chance of scattered rain showers during the early morning. The threat of rain will quickly decrease as the morning wears on, and I think NASCAR could be racing by noon EST on Monday.

Because of the difficult and ever-changing nature of this forecast , please follow me on Twitter (@NASCAR_WXMAN) and like me on Facebook for the latest weather updates through the week.
