2012 Indy 500: Crews Vie For $100,000 Purse In Pit Stop Competition

The Pit Stop Competition at the 2012 Indianapolis 500 will take place May 25 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, two days before the running of the race. Twelve IndyCar Series teams will compete for a stake in a $100,000 purse. The winner will take home $50,000 with the rest split based on order of finish.

Teams will be timed on how fast they can change four tires, complete (simulated) fueling and cross the finish line from the drop of the green flag.

Here are the seven known entrants in the competition based on how they did during races the previous year. The rest of the field will be filled through time trials on May 16.
