Qualification for the Indy 500 kicks off today with Pole Day, where we get to see who gets to claim the top spot -- and the prize money associated with it -- for next week's Indy 500.
Here's the schedule of events for Saturday's qualifying rounds. All times are Eastern.
11 a.m. - Qualifications Begin
4 p.m. - Ceremonial Lap Honoring 50th Anniversary of Parnelli Jones' 150-mph Lap
4:30 p.m. - Fast Nine Qualifications Begin
6 p.m. - Pole Award Presentation, Yard of Bricks
Four lap qualification heats will reveal the top nine racers, who will then race at 4:30 to see their starting order for the race, with the winer of that heat getting the pole position spot for the big race.
The qualifications won't be on television, but live streaming will be provided by the Indy 500 here beginning at 11:30 a.m.
