Another warm day is expected out at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway for the second day of qualifying, bump day. There were moments on Saturday where the sun, the heat, and even a wind nearly fifteen miles per hour had an impact on the cars qualifying. The forecast for today is very similar with a few more clouds in the afternoon.
Qualifying for Bump Day begins at noon EDT with mostly sunny skies and temperatures in the low 80s. By the time we reach the final two hours of qualifying and "Happy Hour" between 5 p.m. EDT and 6 p.m. EDT temperatures will be at their warmest (near 87) but there will be more opportunities for clouds and shade on the track.
There will be a light breeze of three to eight miles per hour with a possible gust near twelve miles per hour out of the south-southwest. That means the drivers would have a head wind along the front stretch and a tail wind on the back stretch.
