Bad news for Charlie Kimball, who went into the wall going into Turn 1 during a practice round on Bump Day at the Indy 500.
Luckily, health-wise, Kimball is OK. He walked away from the crash with no problem. The problem is his car. Kimball is six days from the Indy 500, and his car is absolutely wrecked. If he can fix the car, he'll start 14th, where he qualified. However, if the car can't be fixed by that time and he needs a replacement car, he'll start in 33rd place -- last -- for the main event.
Here's video of the American driver's crash:
It looks like Kimball went a little bit too low before spinning out and crashing into the far wall. Turn 1 looks to be a dangerous spot heading into next week's race.
