NASCAR Michigan International Speedway 2012 Weather Forecast And Schedule: Chance Of Rain Sunday

Nice weather is expected today and Saturday for all NASCAR activities at Michigan International Speedway. The main area of concern for this forecast is Sunday.

High pressure will continue to dominate the region for the next 24-36 hours. That means lots of sunshine and very warm temperatures. Afternoon high temperatures will range from the mid-to-upper 80s this afternoon to near 90 on Saturday.

Sunday is where the forecast becomes more problematic as the threat of rain continues to increase. A popular saying everywhere I've lived has been, "If you don't like the weather, just wait five minutes it will change." The same can sometimes be said for weather forecasts and forecast models.

That has been the case the last 12-24 hours. Rain has been on the increase over southern Michigan for Sunday afternoon. Given the trend the last two days, I am expecting some more changes as we get closer and closer to Sunday. At this point, there looks to be a good threat of a shower or storm Sunday afternoon, but not confident that this is a major problem just yet.

The forecast for Sunday's Sprint Cup Series race at Michigan looks very warm, muggy, a mix of clouds and sunshine with possible showers and thunderstorms during the afternoon.
