NASCAR At Kentucky Speedway 2012: Weather Forecast And Weekend Schedule

It's going to be a scorcher out at Kentucky Speedway this weekend for all the NASCAR races. A heat advisory is in effect until 8 p.m. this evening, and I expect more to be issued Friday and Saturday because of high temperatures in the upper 90s to near 100 and the heat index around 105 and 110 degrees.

If you are going to be at the race this weekend, use common sense. Stay hydrated, wear light colored clothing and find ways to stay out of the sun and be cool.

With all this heat and humidity in northern Kentucky this weekend, there is a small chance for some isolated showers or storms Friday and Saturday afternoon. If one of these storms pop up near or over the track, it might actually be welcomed as long as it doesn't delay any on track activities.

I don't expect these scattered-to-isolated storms to be a problem this weekend. Most of the activity is expected to be north of Kentucky speedway into Indiana and Ohio, but a stray shower or storm can't be ruled out.
