NASCAR At Dover 2012: Start Time, Starting Lineup, TV/Radio Schedule And More

It's NASCAR race day at Dover International Speedway, and we've got the actual race start time, the starting lineup and some other facts about today's race for you below.

What time does the race start today? Delaware Gov. Jack Markell will give the command to start engines at 1:07 p.m. Eastern time today, followed by the waving of the green flag at 1:15 p.m. So if you want to skip the pre-race show and just tune in for the race, turn on your TV set at 1:15 p.m. Eastern time.

Race name/distance: The FedEx 400 is a 400-mile race consisting of – you guessed it – 400 laps around the 1-mile track known as the "Monster Mile." Today's race is partially to raise awareness for the Autism Speaks charity.

TV and radio: Today's race can be seen on FOX. This is FOX's final broadcast of the year before handing the reins to TNT for six races. Unfortunately, there is no live streaming of the race – but you can listen on the Motor Racing Network's Web site (just click the red link). You can also check MRN's site for a list of affiliate stations in your area.

*** NOTE: If you're out and about today and can't watch the race, make sure to follow me (@jeff_gluck) on Twitter. I'll be tweeting updates from the event. ***

National anthem: Kris Allen, the American Idol Season 8 winner, will do the honors today. Allen will also sing his new single prior to driver introductions.

Tickets: Dover's attendance has suffered over the last few years, and there are plenty of tickets available for the race today. If you're looking for a last-minute trip, you shouldn't have a problem finding face-value tickets.

Weather: The unofficial NASCAR weatherman, Brian Neudorff, says today's race will be in the mid-70s with a very small chance of rain. It should be a pleasant day.

Last time: One year ago, Matt Kenseth took two tires instead of four on the final pit stop to win the Dover spring race. Then, last fall, Kurt Busch won the Dover Chase race.
