No change in the weather forecast for the NASCAR Sprint Cup series race at Atlanta Motor Speedway. The afternoon and evening could bring scattered showers and thunderstorms.
As the left over rains of Isaac moves through through the Great Lakes, tropical moisture will continue to stream north into Georgia. This keeps the atmosphere very humid, hot and also unstable. Unstable atmosphere equals a greater chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms.
Scattered showers and storms have been in the forecast since Friday and so far NASCAR has managed to avoid the rain. From the models and data I am seeing scattered showers are expected to once again develop across western and northern Georgia. Some of these storms could drift into the area around and over the track. Like I've been saying all week, delays are possible if a good soaking storm moves or forms over Atlanta Motor Speedway.
