Showers are in the forecast this weekend for Dover International Speedway, as NASCAR prepares for the third race in the Chase for the Sprint Cup. Although the forecast may look wet, there will be a lot more dry time than wet.
A storm system will remain stalled over the Great Lakes this weekend with a nearly stationary front along the East Coast. This will keep the threat of showers and even thunderstorms in the forecast for most of the weekend.
The wettest of the three day appears to be today, with mostly cloudy skies and a chance of showers and thunderstorms. Saturday is mostly dry with more sunshine, and Sunday is somewhere in between with just a small chance of scattered showers during the afternoon. Delays are possible but not very likely, the only real concern is a passing shower forming during the Sprint Cup race on Sunday.
