Kasey Kahne and Brad Sweet will drive in the NASCAR Nationwide Series in 2013 for JR Motorsports with sponsorship from Great Clips. The two drivers will share the No. 5 Chevrolet -- the same car number Kahne uses in the Sprint Cup Series.
The news was first reported by Fox Sports.com.
Kahne and Sweet had made limited starts in 2012 for Turner Motorsports in a car backed by Great Clips, which has had an association with Kahne since the 2003 season.
In 15 races for Turner last season, Kahne's best result was a second-place run at Bristol, while Sweet in 18 starts posted a best finish of sixth at Auto Club Speedway. Sweet also made eight Truck Series starts for Turner with a best finish of ninth at Kansas.
JR Motorsports is partially owned by Kahne's Cup car owner, Rick Hendrick, and teammate, Dale Earnhardt Jr. Kahne finished last season fourth in the Cup standings with victories at Charlotte and New Hampshire.
Danica Patrick and Cole Whitt drove for JR Motorsports last season. However Patrick, along with her Go Daddy sponsorship, has moved up to the Cup Series for 2013, while Whitt's Nationwide schedule has been reduced due to a lack of funding.
Along with Kahne and Sweet, Regan Smith will drive the No. 7 car full-time with sponsorship from TaxSlayer.com, as will Earnhardt Jr. in select races in car No. 88.
