Hop inside Jimmie Johnson's car as his spotter tells him he's won the Daytona 500.
This video is simply awesome. Ever wonder what it's like inside the car of the Daytona 500 winner as a driver takes the checkered flag? Thanks to Jimmie Johnson's in-car camera and audio from his team radio, now we know. And it's hard not to smile watching and listening to him celebrate.
Notice how Johnson's spotter is just humming along, letting him know what's going on around him as he enters the tri-oval. One moment it's normal radio chatter and the next Johnson's spotter is saying "God almighty YOU JUST WON THE 500." Johnson's reaction upon realizing he did it is just superb.
That's Johnson screaming "YEAHHHHHH! I WON THE DAYTONA 500! WOOOOOOOO! YEAH! YEAH" I'm fairly sure that's the reaction anyone -- you, me, some random dude on the street -- would have after winning at Daytona. It's cool to see Johnson, who is no stranger to wins, getting so incredibly psyched as his spotter confirms that he did, in fact, hold off Dale Jr. to win.
And then he did donuts. Woohoo, sports!
