2013 NASCAR standings: Jimmie Johnson remains No. 1

Sam Sharpe-USA TODAY Sports

Johnson has a win and top-five finish through two races. No other driver in the top 10 has won a race at this early stage of the season.

Jimmie Johnson is atop the NASCAR Sprint Cup point standings following a strong early start to the season. Johnson won the Daytona 500 -- it was the second time he's done so -- and followed that up with a top-five finish in Phoenix over the weekend.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Brad Keselowski, who are second and third in the standings, also have two top-five finishes this season, but no wins to show for those efforts. Along with Johnson, they're the only three drivers to finish in the top five in both Sprint Cup races this season.

Carl Edwards won the race in Phoenix on Sunday, ending a 70-race victory drought. That win wasn't enough to move him into the top 10 in the point standings, but he moved up 19 spots to No. 11.

Here's a look at the current top 10:

1. Jimmie Johnson (90 points)
T2. Dale Earnhardt Jr. (82)
T2. Brad Keselowski (82)
T4. Denny Hamlin (72)
T4. Clint Bowyer (72)
6. Greg Biffle (66)
7. Mark Martin (65)
T8. Jeff Gordon (60)
T8. Ricky Stenhouse Jr. (60)
T8. Aric Almirola (60)
