Axalta Coating Systems -- formerly known as DuPont -- will continue its relationship with Jeff Gordon and Hendrick Motorsports for the next three years.
The company announced the contract extension Thursday, which calls for Axalta to be the primary sponsor for Gordon in 10 races each of the next three seasons and an associate sponsor in the remaining events through 2016.
Gordon has been tied with Axalta since bursting upon the Sprint Cup Series scene in 1993, and the company has been a sponsor on the side of the No. 24 car for all of Gordon's four championships and 87 wins.
"I'm so excited that Axalta has decided to move forward with us beyond 2013," Gordon said in a statement. "They've been with me since the beginning and I look forward to a lot more racing, some more wins and hopefully another championship with them before it's all over."
Team owner Rick Hendrick called the partnership "one of the most effective and iconic relationships in sports marketing."
The parent company of Axalta, The Carlyle Group, acquired DuPont's auto paint business last year for a sum of $5 billion and announced in February that Axalta would replace DuPont as Gordon's sponsor.
This weekend's race at Pocono Raceway will mark the first time Axalta's logo will appear on the hood of the No. 24 car using the familiar "firestorm" paint scheme.
