JEFFERSON, Ga. -- Preston Peltier scored an upset over the Southern Super Series regulars on Saturday night in the World Crown 300 at Gresham Motorsports Park in one of the most-exciting races in the 30-year history of the annual race.
Peltier outdueled Bubba Pollard over the final 50 laps, trading the lead several times and capitalizing on lap traffic to win the race and the $20,000 that came with it. The field was a little short on quantity (24) but made up for it with quality, including defending winner Chase Elliott.
Super Series regulars Pollard, Daniel Hemric, Augie Grill and John Hunter Nemechek also participated and the event earned high-marks from every industry expert that attended.
NASCAR Sprint Cup Series regular called the event, "One heck of a race," with Raceweek Illustrated's Brandon Reed adding that Saturday's running was "without a doubt, as a total package, the GREATEST OF ALL TIME."
SB Nation was on hand for the race and scored exclusive interviews with Elliott and the Nemecheks and also listened in on victory lane conversations with Peltier, Pollard and TJ Reaid. Those video can be found below.
