Kasey Kahne moved up one spot to No. 8 in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Standings after pushing past Jeff Gordon with two laps to go and securing a victory in the GoBowling.com 400 at Pocono on Sunday. The win all but secures a spot for Kahne in the Chase for the Sprint Cup championship.
Jimmie Johnson finished 13th at Pocono after a blown tire knocked him out of the lead, but he remains on top of the Sprint Cup Standings. Johnson extended his points lead to 77 over Clint Bowyer, who finished Sunday's race in 14th.
The rest of the top five didn't change from last week, with Carl Edwards, Kevin Harvick and Dale Earnhardt Jr. keeping their spots. Kyle Busch took over the No. 6 position from Matt Kenseth after Busch nabbed eighth place at Pocono and Kenseth finished in 22nd. Kenseth dipped just one slot to No. 7. Gordon moved up one spot to No. 9 with his second-place finish, while Greg Biffle dropped two spots to No. 10 after coming in 10th.
The next Sprint Cup race is the Cheez-It 355 at The Glen on Sunday, Aug. 11 at Watkins Glen International.
