NASCAR Chicago 2013: Start time, TV schedule for Geico 400

Robert Laberge

How to watch the first step in the 2013 Chase for the Sprint Cup on Sunday.

The 2013 Chase for the Sprint Cup begins this weekend at Chicagoland Speedway with the Geico 400. One of the biggest events in racing, the multi-race competition features a wide open field that could lead to some really exciting action.

Jimmie Johnson, last year's runner-up at Chicagoland Speedway, will be in pole position for Sunday's race. Johnson has never won in Joliet, Ill., but he's had a relatively solid year and could get out to a strong start in the Chase if Brad Keselowski isn't able to defend his title.

ESPN starts its race coverage at 1 p.m. ET with a pre-race show. One hour later full race coverage begins, with Allen Bestwick, Dale Jarrett and Andy Petree. The race will re-air on Monday morning at 10:30 a.m. on ESPN2.

Here's everything you need to know to watch Sunday's action on TV:

Time: 2 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 15
Location: Chicagoland Speedway, Joliet, Ill.
TV: ESPN
Radio: Motor Racing Network, Sirius NASCAR Radio

The green flag is scheduled to drop at approximately 2:16 p.m. ET.
