2014 NASCAR at Pocono Raceway: Forecast remains dry for now.

The weather forecast for Pocono is dry but will it stay that way? Looks like it will remain that way but showers could arrive late on Sunday.

The weather forecast for Pocono Raceway this weekend remains dry for today and Sunday. It's surprising I know to talk about Pocono and not have a big threat of rain at some point during the race weekend. As of right now the forecast looks partly to mostly sunny for the rest of today and into Sunday.

High pressure is in control across the Northeast this weekend. This will bring plenty of sunshine and pleasant temperatures for practice and the ARCA race later this afternoon. The dry weather will carry over into Sunday but, (yes there is a "but") there is a system that will move in from the west across Pennsylvania during the afternoon that will bring showers and storms to eastern Pennsylvania by evening.

Right now, I'm confident we get the Sprint Cup race in without the concern of rain and storms. The system is not expected to arrive until after the Sprint Cup race is finished. Because it is Pocono weekend, I will be monitoring that system and the threat of rain as we go through the afternoon on Sunday, just in case.
