Record-breaking qualifying speeds has been a trend on the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series this year and it continued this week at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Kyle Busch broke the qualifying record on his way to the Camping World RV Sales 301 pole. He will start out front on Sunday, but will be challenged to hold onto that position.
New Hampshire has been a bit of an unpredictable track with the last 12 races at New Hampshire Motor Speedway ending with 12 different drivers in victory lane, according to the Sporting News. With a win, Busch would make that 13 for 13. He'll be joined on the front row by Jimmie Johnson, who has won three times at New Hampshire. Johnson was the points leader heading into last week, but dropped to third following the race. Current points leader Jeff Gordon qualified 11th.
