A rift in ownership has likely left Camping World Truck Series championship contender Ron Hornaday Jr. without a ride for Sunday's race at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park in Bowmanville, Ontario..
In a statement, Turner Scott Motorsports said it would only field trucks this weekend for Ben Kennedy and Cameron Hayley, both of whom have funding. This would leave Hornaday, fourth in points and without sponsorship, the odd man out.
The dissolving of Hornaday's team comes as a result of an apparent disagreement between co-owners Steve Turner and Harry Scott. Hornaday is a four-time series champion, winning two titles while driving for Dale Earnhardt (1996, 1998) and another two for Kevin Harvick (2007, 2009).
"My investment company, a co-owner of TSM, will continue to do all that it can to keep the team moving forward with or without our business partner Steve Turner," Scott said. "To all TSM employees, sponsors, partners and fans I pledge we will continue to do what we can to keep the teams racing hard each and every week of the season."
The news doesn't impact Turner Scott's Nationwide Series team. TSM will run a pair of cars for drivers Kyle Larson and Dylan Kwasniewski in Saturday's Nationwide Series race at Atlanta Motor Speedway.
