NBA Draft 2011: After Kyrie Irving And Derrick Williams, What Happens Next?
The 2011 NBA Draft us not deep in terms of high-end, superstar talent and it's not a very suspenseful draft at the top either. Most everyone agrees that the Cleveland Cavaliers will draft Duke guard Kyrie Irving first overall and that the Minnesota Timberwolves will draft Arizona slasher Derrick Williams No. 2.
It's so cut and dried that oddsmakers aren't even offering NBA draft odds on the two top spots. But all that changes when you get to No. 3 where Utah could make things interesting.
They could trade the pick, they could make Jimmer Fredette - the BYU star who played in the state - the No. 3 pick or they could do the smart thing and take Kentucky's Brandon Knight. (There is also one NBA draft prop that asks will Jimmer even be a lottery pick and the odds are tempting to bet ‘no.')
Knight is the favorite choice at bodog and other shops tracked by OddsShark.com, while Cleveland is favored to take Turkish big man Enes Kanter at No. 4.
March Madness hero Kemba Walker is the even odds pick to go No. 5 when Toronto picks, although some NBA mock drafts have the Raptors going Euro again with Jonas Valanciunas, the athletic seven-foooter from Lithuania. That would leave the speedy UConn gunner for consideration at No. 6.
In all, four of the top eight picks could be overseas players as Jan Vesely of Serbia will be a lottery pick, as will Bismack Biyombo of the Congo.
