2011 NBA Draft Results: Alec Burks Selected By Utah Jazz With No. 12 Pick

With the No. 12 pick in the 2011 NBA Draft, the Utah Jazz selected Alec Burks, a sophomore shooting guard from Colorado.

Burks, 6'6" with ball skills and decent ability from medium range, could provide offensive pop for the Jazz. He can create his own looks, and will likely be one of the Jazz's better slashers. Burks is also one of the 2011 NBA Draft's less-discussed prospects, coming out of high school as a lightly-regarded recruit and attending Colorado, a program not known as a major producer of NBA talent. But the last Colorado guard to be taken in the lottery, Chauncey Billups, turned out to be a fairly good player.
