The 2011 NBA Draft began the way we all expected as the Cleveland Cavaliers made Duke point guard Kyrie Irving the No. 1 overall pick. The first three picks followed the order many predicted, with Derrick Williams at No. 2 and Enes Kanter at No. 3. And while the the top-10 wasn't too hard to predict, the draft took a turn for the nutty in the first round as the Minnesota Timberwolves traded as if there was no tomorrow, with deals coming at a rapid-fire rate.
Internationals dominated the top-seven, with Enes Kanter, Jonas Valanciunas, Jan Vesely and Bismack Biyombo all coming off the board early. Canada's Tristan Thompson was taken with the fourth pick, and though he played his college ball at Texas, he's still an international, technically.
The Morris twins also provided a fun quirk in the 2011 NBA Draft. Markieff Morris was taken first, at No. 13 by the Phoenix Suns, and was immediately followed by his brother Marcus, taken at No. 14 by the Houston Rockets.
