2011 NBA Draft Results: Full List Of Second Round Picks

For the most part, anyone who's followed the run-up to the NBA Draft knows the first round picks well enough to at least recognize names and faces, while quickly rattling off the strengths and weaknesses of each prospect. With workouts, mock drafts and all the scouting reports one can handle, it's not hard to get intimately familiar with the top-flight prospects. But in the second round of the 2011 NBA Draft, and especially the back-end of the round, players come out of nowhere, and evaluations get a bit more dicey.

This year's draft was a prime example. Some of the familiar college names -- Shelvin Mack, Kyle Singler and many more -- were taken in the second round, but towards the end it appeared as though teams were flexing their scouting muscles and taking fliers on players who may or may not pan out. If the first round was about limiting risk and finding a capable contributor, the second was about the "upside" or any other buzzword you can think of.

Take, for example, picks No. 26 through No. 29. In order, Chukwudiebere Maduabum, Targuy Ngombo, Ater Majok and Adam Hanga were taken as the ESPN analysts threw their hands up and scrambled to find tape. Ngombo was a name that suddenly appeared just a few days before the draft and played last in Qatar. It was an interesting and fun way to end the draft, to say the least.
