Jeremy Lamb Says Andre Drummond Can Be Great 'If He Wants To Work'

Stay connected with SB Nation

All bets are off ahead of the NBA Draft as players position themselves in hopes of moving up boards through workouts and interviews. On Monday, we saw a bit of friendly fire as Jeremy Lamb threw former UConn teammate Andre Drummond right under the bus with a quote that just isn't a good look for either of the two.

Ben Golliver has the full transcript of Lamb's interview. The key quote, about whether or not Andre Drummond can be great, is last.

It depends on if he wants to work. He's a great athlete. He can jump. He can block shots. He can rebound. I always say, it's funny, we will have an early practice at like 8 AM, and everyone is trying to get warmed up and stuff. He'll just come out and do a windmill to warm up. His bounce is amazing. I believe he's going to work hard, develop post moves, I think he can be a great pro.

For Drummond, it's not a great sign that a teammate is saying he can be great if he puts in the work. For Lamb ... dang, why are you throwing a teammate under the bus? This isn't something that reflects well on either player at all.
