Bobcats 'Closer' To Trading No. 2 Pick In 2012 NBA Draft, According To Report

The Charlotte Bobcats are getting "closer" to agreeing to a trade involving the No. 2 pick in Thursday's 2012 NBA draft, reports ESPN's Andy Katz. The Bobcats have been involved in any number of rumors, though the most persistent version has had Michael Jordan's club dropping only as far as No. 4 in a trade with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The Cavaliers are said to be interested in vaulting in front of the Washington Wizards, who pick No. 3, to lay claim to Florida guard Bradley Beal. The Cavaliers also have the No. 24 pick, as well as two choices in the top several picks of the second round. The understanding is that if the Bobcats trade down to No. 4, they could then grab Thomas Robinson, whom they likely would have taken at No. 2 anyway.
