Miami's triumvirate of superstars was unable to overcome the strong team play of Boston in the much anticipated season-opener Tuesday night.
The reason, for one night at least, is simple: balance. The Celtics had it; the Heat, which relied heavily on LeBron James, did not.
James scored 31 points in his debut for Miami but only one other Heat player was in double figures. Celtics had four players in double figures, led by Ray Allen's 20.
5 still beats 1.
