Kris Humphries was anything but a household name not long ago, but after his short marriage to Kim Kardashian, the New Jersey Nets free agent is becoming a bit of a hot commodity. First SB Nation's Tom Ziller named him one of the best NBA free agents left on the open market and now news has come about that Humphries has been offered a contract by a minor league hockey team.
It seems that the team -- the AHL's Syracuse Crunch -- know just how to lure the veteran big man and Minnesota native to their hockey team, too, according to a press release issued by the team.
"We would welcome Kris Humphries to Syracuse, where unlike Hollywood there are no paparazzi within hundreds of miles and he could reclaim his privacy and self-esteem," said Syracuse Crunch General Manager Vance Lederman. "Being from Minnesota, Humphries will surely enjoy the hockey and feel right at home in the cold, gray, dismal weather we experience this time of year in Central New York."
The Crunch will allow Humphries use of their state of the art training facility and provide a certified personal trainer who will be available to the basketball star as he attempts to earn a spot with a NBA team.
Kind of makes it seem like a no brainer, eh? At least he knows there's some place that wants him until NBA teams come a'calling!
