Chris Paul plays his first (preseason) game in a Clippers uniform on Monday night — and it's against the Lakers.
The NBA preseason schedule is wrapping up its abbreviated existence, and maybe the most interesting game of it takes place tonight in Los Angeles, when Kobe Bryant's Los Angeles Lakers take on former trade target Chris Paul and his Los Angeles Clippers in a renewal of their crosstown rivalry.
Paul will be playing his first game in a Clippers jersey tonight, and teams with Blake Griffin for what should be a potent alley-oop combination. The "Lob City" nickname that Griffin and DeAndre Jordan gave the new-look Clippers in a giddy video last week gets its first trial against the new-look Lakers, whose towering front line got significantly smaller this offseason. Pau Gasol and Andrew Bynum might have some battles against the young Griffin-Jordan tandem in their future, but they will be missing former frontcourt mate Lamar Odom, traded to the Dallas Mavericks in the wake of the Lakers' canceled trade for Paul.
The Clippers are technically playing "at" the Lakers tonight at the Staples Center at 10:30 p.m. ET Monday, and the game will be broadcast on NBA TV. They will play a rematch on Wednesday at 10:30 ET.

Atlanta Hawks at Charlotte Bobcats, 7:00 p.m. ET: The Southeast Division undercard to Lakers-Clippers will be televised on NBA TV.
Utah Jazz at Portland Trail Blazers, 10:00 p.m. ET: Portland begins life without Brandon Roy in a game that will be televised locally.
