Celtics Vs. Knicks, NBA Christmas Day 2011: Rajon Rondo Leads Boston's Comeback Effort

Stay connected with SB Nation

The Boston Celtics have made a major comeback, and they now lead the New York Knicks, 87-79, at the end of the third quarter of this Christmas Day showdown. Rajon Rondo has taken over this game, scoring 10 points as the Celtics outscored the Knicks, 35-17, in the quarter. Rondo now has 29 points, 10 assists and five steals, including this gorgeous pass to Marquis Daniels in transition.

The pivotal play came midway through the quarter, when Carmelo Anthony picked up his fourth foul on Rondo. The Celtics had already cut the Knicks' lead to five points at that point. From there, they outscored the Knicks 25-10, as the Knicks' defense fell apart.
