It's been a quiet beginning for Derrick Rose, but he announced his arrival in this Christmas Day game between the Chicago Bulls and Los Angeles Lakers in a big way midway through the second quarter. After going scoreless in the first quarter, Rose hit a jumper with seven minutes to go in the second quarter, then did this to Ron Artest Metta World Peace and the Lakers' defense.
It's a quality of Rose we saw many times last year. There would be stretches where the 2011 MVP would be held down, but then he'd make a great play and be awoken again. As if on cue, Rose later hit a long three-pointer to inch the Bulls ahead in the second quarter.
