Kobe Bryant scored eight points in the third quarter to lead the Los Angeles Lakers to a 69-68 third-quarter lead over the Chicago Bulls. That outburst allowed the Lakers to overcome a seven-point halftime deficit. Bryant now has 22 points, five assists and six rebounds in the game.
Derrick Rose did his part to at least keep the Bulls close. The reigning NBA MVP equalled Bryant's third quarter scoring and now has 18 points to go along with four assists.
The Bulls' problem was that they didn't get much else from anybody else. The Bulls got only four points from the rest of the team and generally looked like an entirely different team in the third quarter. They didn't score in the quarter's final 2:29 and only scored two points over the quarter's final 4:00.
