Eric Gordon will miss Wednesday's matchup with the Boston Celtics after suffering a knee injury earlier in the week.

Eric Gordon will not play on Wednesday night as the New Orleans Hornets face the Boston Celtics. Gordon injured his knee on Monday after colliding with Grant Hill during the Hornets' matchup with the Suns, causing enough discomfort to force him to miss Wednesday's game as a precaution.

Though Gordon will sit on Wednesday, New Orleans head coach Monty Williams doesn't seem overly concerned about the long-term prognosis at the moment.

Hornets Coach Monty Williams said they're taking precautionary steps with Eric Gordon's knee injury. He's listed as day to day.

As for the effects of the injury on Wednesday night's lineup:

Hornets' Marco Belinelli will start in place of Eric Gordon tonight against the Celtics. Marco was starting PG Monday against Suns. With #Hornets' Eric Gordon sidelined, small forward Trevor Ariza could get some minutes at shooting guard tonight, Coach Monty Williams said
