Tayshaun Prince will be staying with the Detroit Pistons according to a report from Adrian Wojnarowski at Yahoo! Sports. Prince, an unrestricted free agent heading into the lockout-less season, reportedly accepted $27 million over four years to stay in Detroit. The former Kentucky star has spent his entire 9-year career with the Pistons.
While the Pistons are in definite need of rebuilding, bringing back Prince has been one of president Joe Dumars' biggest priorities in the offseason. Prince drew interest from the Los Angeles Clippers, San Antonio Spurs and Chicago Bulls, but opted to stay where he has several established relationships and can continue to be more than a role player. He averaged 14.1 points and 4.2 rebounds per game during yet another tumultuous season for the Pistons last year.
