NBA Free Agency: Shannon Brown To Sign One-Year, $3.5 Million Deal With Suns, Report Says

Shannon Brown will reportedly sign a one-year, $3.5 million deal with the Phoenix Suns. He spent the last two seasons backing up Kobe Bryant with the Los Angeles Lakers.

Dec 8, 2011 - Shannon Brown will sign a one-year, $3.5 million deal with the Phoenix Sunsaccording to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports. Brown became an unrestricted free agent after last season, and is the latest pickup in what has been a shortened and frenzied free agency period thanks to the late end of the NBA lockout. He spent the last two years with the Los Angeles Lakers, where he averaged nearly 8.5 points per game as a backup to Kobe Bryant.

In Phoenix, Brown will be able to back up Steve Nash with Aaron Brooks still stranded in China. Brown could start at the 2-guard spot as well if Grant Hill doesn't ultimately re-sign with the Suns. Either way, Brown should find plenty of use in Phoenix.
