Lamar Odom Wondering What To Do Next After Failed Chris Paul Trade

Stay connected with SB Nation

It's actually kind of sad sifting through Lamar Odom's reaction to the failed trade that would've sent him off to New Orleans in a three-team deal centered around Chris Paul. The deal was all but done on Thursday before David Stern pulled the rug out from underneath everyone, vetoing the trade and sending everyone back to their corners. To say Odom is heartbroken and confused would be an understatement.

Among other things, Odom is wondering what to do next. He didn't know about the trade and was blindsided by it before being taken for a ride for a few hours in the evening as more news broke. Just read the quotes in your saddest voice to get the full effect.

"And then it doesn’t go through," Odom said. "Oh, lord. I don’t know what I’m going to do. I’ll pray about it."

"Maybe I’ll see you there tomorrow [at practice]," Odom said. "But I doubt it. You don’t want to go to no place you’re not wanted. I’ll try to give them what they want as much as possible."

You can read more of Odom's comments, which are framed by confusion and disbelief, over at the LA Times' Lakers blog.

And quickly changing the tone of this all, here's a funny auto-correct incident in a tweet Odom sent after finding out the deal was off.

as soon a player says or admits its just 4 the $ they are dead wrong!?!? When it's all biz w/ us we shellfish..
