You probably weren't wondering whether Blake Griffin could still pull off his spectacular dunks without point guard Baron Davis throwing the lobs, but in case you were, Griffin had a message for you on Thursday. That message? "I can catch lobs from anyone. Even Mo Williams."
Williams hit Griffin for two spectacular alley-oop dunks in the Clippers' game against the Sacramento Kings last night (the other is below the jump), showing Williams that it's way more fun to play with a high-flyer. This one-handed throwdown off a strange-looking pass from Williams was the headliner. Given the way Williams plays the game, this could very easily have been a floater that just missed very badly. Instead, it turned into an assist. It beats passing to Antawn Jamison and Daniel Gibson, that's for sure.
In the end, the Clippers lost the game because they couldn't stop new Kings guard Marcus Thornton, but at least they lost in an entertaining way. For Williams, that's a step in the right direction after having to experience the debacle in Cleveland up close.
