There wasn't a whole lot of scoring in the third quarter between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Miami Heat. The Lakers looked like they were about to take control, but a late Heat mini-surge cut the Lakers' lead to 70-68 as we enter the fourth quarter.
The Lakers used their size and superior defense to go on a 9-0 run and take a 68-62 lead after a three-pointer by Derek Fisher with 3:09 remaining, but the Heat scored six of the last eight points of the quarter. LeBron James scored on a driving layup, one of his best plays of the game, then hit a long jumper on the quarter's final possession to account for the scoring margin.
Kobe Bryant and Chris Bosh have 18 points apiece, though only two of Bosh's points came in the third quarter. Pau Gasol has 16 for the Lakers, while James now has 14 for the Heat.
