Jalen Rose Admits To DUI Arrest, Apologizes For 'Lapse In Judgement'

Jalen Rose issued a statement through his website on Wednesday in which he admitted to his DUI arrest on March 11. In the release, Rose acknowledged his accident and "voluntarily submitted to a blood alcohol screening" because he did not feel inebriated and believed he was fully cognizant to drive. However, the results showed he was above the legal limit.

Admitting regret over the event, Rose went on to apologize to his family and his employer, ESPN. Rose was also a subject in a recent ESPN documentary that focused on Rose and his Fab Five teammates while members of the Michigan basketball team in the early 90s.

He also apologized to those who looked to him as a role model for what he termed a "lapse in judgment." His court date is still scheduled for April 20, which he hopes will bring resolution to the situation.
