Glen Davis Knee Injury Not Severe, May Be Out Of Celtics' Line-Up One Week

The Boston Celtics received good news from an MRI on injured forward Glen Davis' knee. The MRI, taken after Davis was injured during the Celtics game against the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday, revealed no structural damage and Davis could return to the lineup in a week. Davis has struggled with his balky knee throughout the season and went down hard on Wednesday night, clutching his left knee.

Reports indicated Davis has tendinitis in his left knee, but the ligaments were fine. Davis was disappointed after learning the news, but was hoping to be ready for the stretch run and playoffs.

"It kind of sucks," Davis said after sitting out Thursday's practice. "I kind of wanted to play the whole season. I tried the best I can. Now I've just got to get healthy and ready for the playoffs."

Davis is averaging 11.6 points and 5.3 rebounds per game. Though he's appeared in all 59 of the Celtics' games this year, he's only started 10, but averages 29.4 minutes per game. His scoring production is fourth-best and his minutes are fifth-best on the team, as well.
