Memphis began its Western Conference Quarterfinals match-up against San Antonio with the hot hand. In the third quarter, the Spurs flipped that script, and now it's the home team with the lead in San Antonio, as the Spurs carry a 74-70 lead into the fourth quarter.
For the Spurs, bench scoring has helped take some pressure off of Tim Duncan. The Spurs' fulcrum down low leads San Antonio with 16 points, but he is joined in double figures by Tony Parker (14 points), Richard Jefferson (10), and Gary Neal (10). Neal, in particular, was big in the third quarter, sinking two threes.
Memphis has no such depth to rely on: Zach Randolph, Marc Gasol, and Mike Conley remain the only three Grizzlies in double figures, and they have a combined 48 of Memphis' 70 points.
