Dwight Howard Scoring At Will Again; Magic Lead Hawks This Time Around

Stay connected with SB Nation

That Dwight Howard strategy the Atlanta Hawks employed in Game 1? It appears to still be in effect, as Howard has half of Orlando's 48 points and no other Magic player besides Jameer Nelson has hit more than one field goal. The Hawks are close behind at the half, down 48-42.

Strangest stat of the night so far: the Magic didn't hit any of their six three-point attempts, while Atlanta hit five of their 11. Looks pretty backwards to me, since Orlando bases so much of their offense around deep shooting. Joe Johnson and Jamal Crawford have hit two threes each, and all four of those were risky-looking bombs or buzzer-beaters.

Orlando is still dusting Atlanta on the boards, with more offensive rebounds than the Hawks have mustered total rebounds.
