Former Minnesota Timberwolves head coach Kevin McHale will interview with the Houston Rockets about their vacant head coaching job, according to Yahoo! Sports Adrian Wojnarowski. Woj also lists Washington Wizards assistant Sam Cassell, former Cleveland Cavaliers coach Mike Brown, Dallas Mavericks assistant Dwane Casey, Milwaukee Bucks assistant Kelvin Sampson and current Rockets assistant Jack Sikma as being in the running.
My Fox Houston's Mark Berman reports Cassell will meet with the team next week. He was a part of two Houston championship teams during his playing career.
McHale manned both the front office and sidelines during various periods of his confusing time in Minnesota, going 39-55. After being let go after the 2009-10 season, he began calling games for TNT and NBA TV. The Celtics great has also been rumored to be in consideration for the Boston job once Doc Rivers steps down.
