There's nothing quite like a one-on-one, stop me or get dunked on showdown in the NBA. And it's even better when the man with the ball is Blake Griffin, one of the more powerful dunkers in the NBA. On Saturday night, Blake Griffin met his match as he tried to throwdown on fellow 2011 Slam Dunk Contest competitor Serge Ibaka as the Oklahoma City Thunder battled the Los Angeles Clippers.
Here's video of Ibaka stepping up into the path of Griffin and rejecting him during Saturday's game (via Blazers Edge).
And that, my friends, is the ultimate showdown at the rim. Two guys that know how to get up and throw down going at it toe-to-toe in the paint as Griffin tried to put Ibaka on a poster.
It's been a fun week for dunk contest participants, and Griffin seems to always be involved in the meeting of the minds. Earlier in the week, Griffin and JaVale McGee went at it, with McGee swatting a Griffin try into the seats before the Clippers' star got his revenge later in the game. McGee also gave us a block of the year nominee with a rejection of Wesley Matthews.
