George Karl's Denver Nuggets beat the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday night. George Karl's Denver Nuggets lost to the Oklahoma City Thunder on Tuesday night. Surprise! George Karl would rather his Denver Nuggets meet the Dallas Mavericks than the Oklahoma City Thunder in the NBA Playoffs. From Tim McMahon, via Daily Thunder:
"If we had to pick and choose on it, we would probably say 55 percent Dallas, 45 percent Oklahoma City, only because Oklahoma City is athletic like we are and they have two great players," Karl said.
That's an overly nice way of saying that everyone on the Mavericks other than Dirk Nowitzki is either mediocre or currently playing like crap (or in some cases, both). It's also a knock on how old and slow the Mavericks roster is, but it's presented in Karl's genteel charm. It's also perfectly sensible: The Thunder are clicking, despite some tough losses, and the Mavericks really have skidded to a near-halt.
