The only sports-related sculpting task that sounds more challenging than designing a Nick Saban statue to Mrs. Saban's exact specifications: creating a bust in honor of Scottie Pippen. This isn't really a joke about how famously unique Pippen's face is. I'm seriously admiring how difficult it would be to accurately reflect his likeness.
Via @jose3030, a picture of the bust unveiled at the United Center during Thursday night's game against the Boston Celtics:
It looks pretty good, I think, but there's really no work of art that could perfectly capture Pippen's look. The Chicago Bulls great joins Michael Jordan in having his sculpture permanently placed in the Bulls' arena.
Which all-time NBA player would be the hardest to sculpt a fitting resemblance of? Come to think of it, if Joakim Noah winds up having a Hall of Fame career, the United Center might have a very interesting collection of artwork.
